Three scenes from São Paulo (english version)

(This is a rush translation. Version may not be in its final form.)

In one day, three remarkable scenes:
a) I find that my dissertation is quoted in a manuel Federal Council of Psychology.
b) Subway Security Guards hit the man's head.
c) The newspaper owner receives the kiss from the great actress.

My friends invite me to go to an exhibition with them, then to the theater.
I get a message in the morning. That work so long ago, which has not altered my material life at all, is now among the few reference books in a national manual.
I remember at the time a great scientist commenting on the self-destruction promoted by Brazil with it´s science. It's a fight against intelligence. Wrongly wronged. I also remembered James Baldwin.

The man in lowly clothes is chased off the subway. The black guard was beating him like an animal. Two against one. We were scared, no one interfered. I recoil with violence. A black girl begins to yell at him, descends with the security guard to the post saying that he can not do that. He says she should wash some laundry, should make some food. She say to him to wash his underwear. I say: what machismo, but my voice barely leaves. I also do not know how far it goes, even within the subway, on behalf of the institution.

The text is good, the great actress is divine. The small audience vibrates and claps their feet. The author / journalist is a man with almost white hair, surrounded by admirers.

Is this the same man who, being criticized for the partiality of his paper in London, despises the journalist who criticized her as a political activist?

I remember a meeting about film criticism. The film that portrays the coup d'état in 2016 gets a star in a conservative magazine's guide. A young man in the audience make an statment.

- It was a formal criticism, the man answer, not politics I think she did not present both sides.

But it was political: in the interviews the director clarifies that the right wing did not accept to be recorded.

There must be a connection between these scenes and I try to understand what it would be.
